ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of Paishi decoction in ureteral calculi treatment. Methods:Ureteral calculi patients were voluntarily divided into two groups in Shanghai Baoshan Traditional Chinese Medicine-Integrated Hospital. Patients in the control group received anti-inflammatory symptomatic treatment for 2 weeks, and patients in the treatment group received anti-inflammatory symptomatic treatment combined with Paishi decoction for 2 weeks. Results:There was no significant difference between the two groups in gender, age, body weight and stone size. Compared with the control group, after taking Paishi decoction for 2 weeks, the urinary oxalic acid and calcium in the treatment group decreased significantly, and the urine citric acid increased (P<0.05). The difference in clinical effective rate was significant between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion:Paishi decoction is superior to single anti-inflammatory symptomatic treatment in the treatment of ureteral calculi, which reflects the advantages of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine. However, the number of patients included in this study was limited, further studies are in need to verify the result.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the effect of stone removal and relieving renal colic with Xiere-Zhuyu-Paishi decoction and auxiliary lithotripsy in patients with upper ureteral calculi. Methods A total of 80 patients with upper ureteral calculi were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 40 in each group. Both groups were treated with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) as the basic treatment. Besides, the control group added the western medicine, such as pain relieving, spasmodic and anti-infection while, the observation group with Xiere-Zhuyu-Paishi decoction. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. After 1 courses of treatment, the curative effect was evaluated. The effect of lithotripsy (lithotripsy success rate, stone clearance rate, stone expulsion time), renal colic improvement (renal colic rate, analgesic drug usage rate, pain visual analogue VAS score) and WHOQOL-BREF scores were compared. Results After treatment, the total efficiency of observation group was 92.5% (37/40), while the control group was 75% (25/40), and the difference was statistically significant (Z=-3.082, P=0.004). After treatment, the observation group stone clearance rate was 92% (36/40), while the control group was 72.5% (29/40), and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=3.986, P=0.031). After treatment, the incidence of renal colic of the observation group was 12.5% (5/40), while the control group was 32.5% (13/40), and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=3.146, P=0.037). The analgesic drug usage rate in the observation group was 5% (2/40), while the the control group was 25% (10/40), and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=4.021, P=0.019). After treatment, the observation group lithecbole time, pain VAS score levels in the observation group was significantly lower than those in the control group (t=6.261,5.743, all Ps<0.01). After treatment, the WHOQL-BREF score, the physiological domain score, psychological field score, social relationship domain score, environment the field score in the observation group were significantly higher than those of control group (t values were 6.731, 4.342, 5.064, 4.521, 5.128, all Ps<0.01).Conclusions The application of Xiere-Zhuyu-Paishi decoction and auxiliary lithotripsy in patients with upper ureteral calculi can promote stone removal in upper ureteral stones, alleviate renal colic and improve the quality of life of the patients.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To observe clinical efficacy of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy combined with Paishi decoction in the treatment of kidney stone. METHODS:160 patients with kidney stone were selected and randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 80 cases in each group. Control group only received HB-ESWL-VG extracorporeal shock wave litho-tripsy;observation group additionally received Paishi decoction 300 ml,tid, for consecutive 1 week,on the basis of control group. Clinical efficacy was observed in 2 groups;the levels of serum inflammatory factor IL-2,IL-6,TNF-α,T lymphocyte subset CD3+,CD4+,CD8+ and CD4+/CD8+,erythrocyte immune function indicator C3b receptor rosette(C3bRR),immunity complex ro-sette(ICR)and tumor erythrocyte rosette(TER)level were detected in 2 groups before and after treatment. RESULTS:The effec-tive rate of observation group(98.75%)was significantly higher than that of control group(91.25%),with statistical significance (P0.05). CONCLUSIONS:The extracor-poreal shock wave lithotripsy combined with Paishi decoction can relieve inflammation reaction, enhance immune function and im-prove therapeutic efficacy.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of endoscopic sphineterotomy (EST) and endoscopic sphincterotomy associated with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of intrahepafic duct stones. Methods Eighty patients with common bile duet stones and intrahepatic duct stone were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group.EST associated with traditional Chinese medicine was performed in the treatment group, and EST only was used in the control group.Clinical effects were observed. Results Common bile Duet stone clearance was achieved in 94% patients in the treatment group, contrasting 88% in the control group. There was no significant difference between them (P>0.05).While intrahepatic duct stone clearance was 74% and 28% respectively in the treatment group and the control group, showing significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion It is a good way that endoscopic sphincterotomy associated with traditional Chinese medicine treating intrahepatic duct stones.
